Your tools don't talk to each other? Stop the copy-paste

In most small businesses, tools pile up one at a time: a CRM here, an Excel sheet there, invoicing software, an overflowing inbox. Each one works. But between them, a human is the bridge — retyping data by hand, several times a week.

That copy-paste isn't just lost time. It's the most reliable source of errors in your company: a shifted number, a forgotten client, a late invoice. And since nobody enjoys the task, it always ends up postponed.

Where to start

Not with the most impressive tool — with the most frequent transfer. The one that comes back every week, always the same. It's almost always a perfect candidate for a simple automation: when X happens in tool A, create Y in tool B.

The good news: most modern software exposes an API or connects through integration platforms. You almost never need to replace everything. Keep your tools — build the bridges.

The five-minute test

Ask your team: "What information do you retype from one screen to another every week?" Every answer is an automation waiting to happen. If the list has more than three items, the math is quick — every automated transfer is time recovered every week, forever.
